I take anticonvulsants
EEg in Dr's surgery said atrial flutter, but gp said it was normal.
Should I push for anther opinion by paediatric cardiologist8 year old son lips go dark blue, especially when in water swimming?
You should, yes. Blue lips indicate a circulatory problem
EDIT
check out this site for babies... you may get an idea of whether your childs symptons are in need of further investigation. It indicates circular cyanosis, but before you get alarmed, check the inside of your childs mouth and the colour of his finger nails ...

get a paediatric cardiologits opinion and get it soonish. blue lips when exerting oneself is not normal and may indicatea circulatory problem. this may be the case as he was also in atrial flutter. i'm putting 1 and 1 together here and the answer number 2 is that he may have an underlying cardiac issue. ECGs are only valid for the 10seconds they show and he may be in and out of flutter ofetn ior not at all. more test are needed- certainly a 24hr tape to keep an eye on the flutter regularity-and possibly an echo scan for completeness.
I side with normal due to lowering the temp of the body in water or environment. If he gets warmed up does it go away?
My brother's lip got so blue when we went swimming because he would not get out of the water. We went national park beach swimming where the water was always cold unless it was 90 degrees for a length of time.
If someone said atrial flutter, then look into another opinion just in case. A pediatric cardiologist is a great idea!!
Good luck!!
If your motherly gut instinct tells you to push for another opinion then YES. Leave nothing to chance and follow your gut !!!!
It means holding his breath can affect the circulation of his blood. Better see a doctor.
Diabetes? Check his blood sugar.
my kids lips go blue when swimming too
i dont think its anything to worry about
its just poor circulation..
It is nothing to worry about tho.
My sons lips do the same thing
