I know this is an odd question, but it happens. Almost every morning, when I wake up, my lips feel a bit swollen and when I look in the mirror, they do in fact look larger than normal. Please, don't give funny answers. When I wake up in the morning, my lips feel swollen. Why?
It is completely normal. Morning time is when you will notice a little edema (excess water) in some areas. I don't know the reason for it, but it has something to do with while you are sleeping your body is telling itself to start getting rid of excess water. That is usually why we have to urinate first thing of the morning. When I wake up in the morning, my lips feel swollen. Why?
...Maybe you're having some kind of mild allergic reaction to your pillowcase, or something like that...? Try sleeping in a different place n' see if it still happens!
...If it keeps up, you might want to see a doctor about it...
Are they dry and chaped too. If so maybe from sleeping with your mouth open.
Water retention?
it sounds like an alergic reaction called Angioedema ,maybe something you ate the day before
The list of things which can cause angioedema is enormous, and new causes are always turning up. Prominent causes are:
Foods: Egg, fish, nuts of all kinds as well as sesame seed and some other seeds, strawberries, seafood such as shrimps and prawns, and many other foods. Less common causes include celery, cumin, Chinese water chestnuts, and a host of others.
Medicines. Aspirin is by far the most prominent example, along with 'nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs' (NSAIDs) These are painkillers often used for rheumatic diseases or as substitutes for aspirin. But an enormous host of other medicines can do it.
Natural rubber latex such as that in medical gloves and catheters, but also in balloons, contraceptive devices and even to some extent rubber bands. If this is your problem you may have similar reactions to banana, avocado, kiwi fruit, chestnut and a range of other fruits. You need to see a specialist to know how to be safe if you need dentistry or surgery, or other medical procedures.
The reason why your lips are swollen in the morning is because you may have alot of sodium (salt) in your system and salt retains water. Your lips and even your hands will feel swollen upon waking up. Msure you reduce the intake of salt in your diet and just drink a glass of water before bed and when you wake up.
honestly i don't know . please see your doctor
that will be the best way.
peace
