There is no gently about this. You have to let them know(maybe from an article you read, or use the pediatrician as your scape goat) that lip kissing is not something you want to expose your baby to this early. Assure them that it has nothing to do with favoritism or hygiene, but is a no-budging issue for you and that your first concern is only for the sake of your child. They can take it or leave it. If they realize the importance of staying on their grand baby's mommas good side, they'll stop. How to gently tell hubbys realtives not to kiss my baby on the lips?
Tell them that you don't want him to come into contact with germs and bacteria.. THey will probably think your crazy no matter how you say it. It sucks, i know first hand, but you have to deal with it or deal with them getting annoyed with you.How to gently tell hubbys realtives not to kiss my baby on the lips?
What we did with our family members is tell the truth on why we don't want them to kiss them on the lips, it didn't hurt their feelings, they understood, so should your husbands family members.
Just tell them that you are afraid that the baby may catch a virus and you don't want to risk it.
Best to have your husband tell them if they are his relatives.
let your hubby tell his relatives else if u tell yourself they might misunderstand u
jus tell them about the swine flu..i
